Hi, I'm Marissa
I love all things pregnancy, gentle-birth and women’s health. My interest in pregnancy and post-natal care was sparked at the age of 22, when I fell pregnant with our first child, Alela, while I was studying massage therapy.
At that point life changed immensely in a very short period of time. As I faced important choices, learning curves and life decisions, I was struck by how little I knew about pregnancy and mothering! Despite having empowering birth experiences and wonderful family support, I found my experience of early motherhood to be very challenging and isolating and I know this is the case for many.
My own experiences have led me to find ‘gaps’ in easily accessible pre and post-natal support and education. Running this business is my way of doing my best to support others in the ways that I myself found difficult during pregnancy and beyond. I’m a massage therapist, but I also offer resources to connect you with further support and education so that you can navigate your own way through this vulnerable and formative time with confidence.
I work from my home studio in Auchenflower where I offer massage therapy, birth preparation, card readings and sound meditation. I'm available for Mobile Massage (for groups) at flexible times outside of my clinic hours - please visit the Contact page to learn more.
Though I specialise in Pregnancy and Post-Natal Massage, I equally love treating women at any stage of life, mothers or otherwise.

What to Expect
I work with all-natural products and I'll tailor your massage to suit your needs.
Treatments are a blend of therapeutic and restorative massage with a focus on relaxation and release and include aromatherapy and sound.
My educational background is in Aromatherapy, Yoga, Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Traditional Chinese Philosophy, Acupressure, Shiatsu, Emotional Anatomy, Pregnancy and Post-Natal Massage and I have attended two Spinning Babies Workshops.
Empowered pregnancy and birth are at the heart of what I do. I love helping women to find ways to learn more about their own bodies, capabilities and choices for a more healthy, enjoyable and fulfilling experience of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.
High quality, in-depth training is essential for safe and effective pregnancy and post-natal care. For this reason I chose to undergo Pre and Post-Natal massage training with Pregnancy Massage Australia and I've recently been expanding my knowledge of optimal foetal positioning and body balancing through Spinning Babies.
I'm excited to be furthering my studies in the future to include additional 'Spinning Babies' training, pregnancy yoga, childbirth education and more.
Pregnancy massage can help to relieve common issues such as sciatic pain and back, neck and shoulder tension, and are great for helping the body and mind to relax, connecting with yourself and your baby, and to prepare physically and emotionally for childbirth.
Post-Natal treatments are conducted in a similar way to pregnancy treatments, supporting your body during the post-natal recovery period and acknowledging your current needs which are changing (yet again!) as your body adapts to new motherhood.
Post-natal massage can help with physical post-natal recovery by soothing the nervous system, aiding circulation and muscle recovery and relieving neck, shoulder and back tension. It's also very emotionally soothing, giving you the chance to rest and recharge.
It's important to me that my services are accessible and affordable so I offer concessions and even exchanges for treatments. Please see my Pricing page for more information. I'm happy to offer support for women on a physical and emotional level when they need it, regardless of financial situations.
